Custom Loading Styles

You are here:

The plugin currently doesn’t display a ‘Loading’ message when the maps are still loading. However, since version 1.4.4 there’s a css class that is added/removed when the map is loading: map_loading.

You can add your own CSS rules to manipulate the visuals of the map placeholder when the map hasn’t processed yet.

Since the behaviour is not consistent and this also depends on the amcharts library – which the plugin uses to generate the maps – the plugin doesn’t ship with any styles for the loading status. However, here’s an example of some custom styles you can add to your map to replicate the example above:

/* Transparent Overlay */
.map_loading:before {
  content: '';
  display: block;
  position: absolute;
  top: 0;
  left: 0;
  width: 100%;
  height: 100%;
  background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0.1);
}

.map_loading:not(:required):after {
  content: '';
  display: block;
  font-size: 10px;
  width: 0.8em;
  height: 0.8em;
  margin-top: -30%;
  margin-left: 50%;
  -webkit-animation: spinner 2000ms infinite linear;
  -moz-animation: spinner 2000ms infinite linear;
  -ms-animation: spinner 2000ms infinite linear;
  -o-animation: spinner 2000ms infinite linear;
  animation: spinner 2000ms infinite linear;
  border-radius: 0.4em;
  -webkit-box-shadow: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.75) 1.5em 0 0 0, rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.75) 1.1em 1.1em 0 0, rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.75) 0 1.5em 0 0, rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.75) -1.1em 1.1em 0 0, rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5) -1.5em 0 0 0, rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5) -1.1em -1.1em 0 0, rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.75) 0 -1.5em 0 0, rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.75) 1.1em -1.1em 0 0;
